PD-Eye on-line partial discharge monitor has been designed for installation in smaller substations and industrial sites whilst still incorporating all of the powerful PD detection and noise rejection features that have been proven by the larger, 128 channel, ASM monitor.

PD-Eye monitor is configurable for up to 8 sensors. These include high frequency CT’s for monitoring cable health, capacitive and acoustic sensors for monitoring switchgear and transformer condition and temperature & humidity sensors for environment monitoring.

The 8 channel system requires no multiplexing of signals making it ideal when space is limited, such as in smaller distribution substations.

Suitable for all types of substation equipment, PD-Eye provides a powerful tool to the asset manager, providing continuous on-line condition data at the touch of a button.

Sensors

Sensors are distributed around the substation according to the monitoring requirements. Both active (with integral amplifiers) and passive transducers are compatible including the following:

BP 1
High Frequency CTs
BP 2
Capacitively Coupled
BP 3
Airborne Acoustic
BP4
Temperature and Humidity
Up to 8 sensors can be monitored by a single PD-Eye.

PD-Eye Monitor

The PD-Eye Monitor records data from all the sensors. Data is sampled across the power cycle (50Hz or 60Hz) at a sampling rate of 100MS/sec at a 12 bit resolution.

The acquired signals are stored in a local database ready for access by the central Server.
